Pandora Radio

Pandora Radio may not be open source, but it is a great free service. It is called Radio, but it is fully customizable by the listener. There is on problem with Pandora Radio though, it is only available to residents in the United States. I am guessing that it has to do with licensing since they pay royalties for every song they play to every user. The only other downside is that you have 40 hours of listening for free per month. There is a bright side though and that is for the price of only $0.99 (usd) per month you will then have unlimited listening time. They don't have downloads for free, all the music is streamed, but you can buy songs for download and their prices are very comparable to most of the other reliable download services.

You may consider paying the $0.99 (usd) fee for each month after you sign-up as a free user. Once you start to do research on Pandora (while streaming music from their site of course) you will see all of the platforms that it is now available on. You don't have to be sitting at your computer listening to it from your browser, in fact I almost never listen to it that way. For me when I am at my computer I don't listen to it through my browser, instead I stream the music through Rhythmbox on my desktop. If I want to listen to it on my home stereo system, I just stream it through my Roku. Take into account you can listen to it on mobile devices also, you can see how you may just think it is the best 99 cents you've ever spent.
